List of symptoms I’m seeing Black MacBook dies ( Spain )

Blackbook trashes address book

My BlackBook is scheduled to have its logic board replaced at the Apple Store (Yorkdale) in Toronto. in the meantime it has chewed up and spat out our precious (OSX) Address Book, leaving NO contacts intact. My only hope is that my iBook has not synced and also lost its contents.
Any similar experiences with Intel macs I think should be discussed, in case it is related to the bad logic board. We never had any problems with our iBook in FIVE years of heavy-duty use. Did I mention five years? reliable service?

You know, something similar happened to me.
I synced my mobile with my MacBook (silver), and instead of transferring and updating contact info like it had done numerous times before, everything from my mobile and my macBook got wiped.
I put it down to a miss setting in iSync…. im now wondering if it is something more? As a few days ago i again synced my contacts from my phone, and it deleted everything in my mac’s address book, but not my mobile….

I did get some advice from an Apple technician friend of mine….

“If you’re using iSync, before you sync go into preferences and “reset device history”…”

I actually cant remember the reason he gave to do this, but it works when i reset the history….
