Apple Hates Me
As of tomorrow, I will have been without my MacBook for three weeks. Right now, I have been on hold with AppleCare for nearly two hours. All I want to know is when (or if) I will get my MacBook back. That is all, is that too much to ask? I guess so. I have been using PCs for nine years and have had problems with two laptops in that time. Neither PC company (Toshiba and TwinHead) kept my laptop for more then a week and both were responsive and able to give me some idea as to when the laptop would be returned.
What is especially ridiculous is how Apple overcharges for the extended service plan, $250 is almost double what I paid for my last plan (for a Sony). Is this service worth it? Not by a mile. I would like to see what would happen if AppleCare kept Steve Jobs on hold for two hours.
I have had five PC laptops (some for business, some for personal) over the years and had trouble with only the two mentioned above. Three of those were Sonys, all of which work perfectly to this day.
Well, finally got through to a third person at AppleCare, but they could not give me any more information. They did promise to ‘escalate’ my repair. So I guess they will do a whole lot of nothing a little bit faster now.

My MacBook is the first Apple product that I have ever purchased. I had heard that Apple had high quality hardware and high quality customer service, but now my MacBook has the random shutdown problem, and I keep seeing all these stories about poor customer service. I personally tried to call AppleCare about my MacBook problem, but I waited so long that I had to hang up to go to work. I only see a few positive comments about Apple’s handling of the shutdown problem. Perhaps only the upset people post, and the happy people spend their time elsewhere.

Don’t hold your breathe - my case has been ‘escalated’ by Applecare for a week - oh whoopie - I’m still waiting.
Recall the faulty units Apple. You sold us a lemon.

DAP, same here, I fell for the line that Apple had better hardware and better customer service.
Eng Yew Lee, don’t worry, I am not holding my breath, I am letting it our in one long sigh of dissapointment.
