MacFixit article on possible hardware fix

When first posted on the site this article was viewed for free; now it’s only available (along with other articles on our problem) by paying the $25 fee to join. Did anyone download the article or know where else it might ba posted, since originally it was posted without any fees online? Thanks.

I think it is a shame that you are charging money to read about possible fixes to this problem. This is not the “apple fanatic” way. Sure, apple has an issue with the macbook, but why charge others who are suffering to try to find a solution. That’s not very friendly.

I will assume that you are not talking to me (I posted this query) when you say “a shame that you are charging…” as I’m the one who is bringing it up and asking if anyone has the original pages. It’s MacFixit thats’ now charging to read the article, not me.

Good call PM, John… PM was just asking if anyone had a copy of the article. It’s MaxFixit that is charging for the article as PM stated, not him.

I’ve since learned that this is a standard practice for MacFixit, offering new articles for free for a short time, and then archiving them and providing access only via Pro upgrade. Now that I know it’s how they do things, I don’t mind. still, I’d love to hear from someone who downloaded the pages while available, as I’m not interested in paying for the pro access there.
