Wow. Sony so ripped off Apple…I wonder if RSS comes with their new look too?

So it looks like Sony’s new laptop is a complete rip off of the Macbook….I wonder if RSS will come along with the design ripoff?

Uh, no. As a designer, maybe I see things you don’t. This has really only a passing resemblance to the MacBook, mostly in color. The keyboard, is in fact, just like most keyboards. Each key does not poke its own hole through the face, it is a standard subassembly, like every other laptop, except the MacBook. The main difference is that the base of the Sony and the screen are meant to look like two distinct parts, the shapes are different (as opposed to the MacBook which it symmetrical) and the colors are different.
This reminds me of the first Viaos, except not in purple. Sony has always had a minimalist bent, where as Apple has come to it more recently. Oh, and Sony has had gray in their pallet for years.
What really makes this look like a MacBook, aside from the colors, is the lack of all those damn stickers PCs have on them. Wait till this is on display at BestBuy covered with ‘Intel Inside’, ‘Designed for Microsoft Windows’ and related stickers. You won’t recognize it.
