Repaired and returned within four days
Filed in: Random Shutdown Add comments
My MacBook developed RSS around 2 months after purchase. Went to the Apple Store in Ginza (Tokyo), on Sunday 24th, they had a quick look at it and sent it off for repair the next day.
On Tuesday 26th my MacBook was repaired and sent back to me, arriving on Wed 27th. The following things have been changed:
607-0199 NEW THERMAL HEATSINK ASSY, M42
875-2828 FOAM, THERMAL SENSOR COINN
J922-7754 TOP CASE W/KEYBOARD ASSY, V2-JPN
922-7776 BEZEL, DISPLAY, VERSION 2
So far so good, no random shutdowns whatsoever. For me at least the logic board didn’t seem to be the cause of the problem.

Argh. This is so frustrating to read. My Macbook was a victim of RSS, so I submitted mine at the Shibuya store (Tokyo) about TWO weeks ago and still haven’t heard from Apple since.
I’ve been told there is a ”lack of parts,” but seeing that you got yours back so quickly, I have to wonder.
