I do not know if it is third party or not. They told me that that they changed the RAM each time it was in repair, also three times bad RAM? I never had 10.3 running on that machine, started with 10.4.7. I had ram that worked fine under 10.3, but once I upgraded to 10.4 I would get kernel panics within a few minutes use. swapped out that ram for ram marked for use in apples, and I've not had a kernel panic since.
