I have the same computer, and unfortunately, yes, it does have the random shutdown problem. At first, my computer would shut down at 15% battery life without warning, then at 36%, then 55%, and yesterday, 88%. The thing is, it won't shut down randomly if it's plugged into an electical outlet. But how inconvenient that I have to plug it in all the time. I need to take it in for repairs, but I can't imagine being without it for a couple of days.

By the way, I got mine way back in February, which I believe was the very first batch sold. If you bought yours later, maybe it doesn't have the same problems.

Good Luck--
