Hello from Greece. It was painfull, to see your MacBook shutting down with no reason. The Random Shutdown problem start after 2 or 3 months after I bought it. I called the dealer, we send it to Service, I dont know what they did, and for 2 months now my MacBook works OK. ( I work everyday many hours with it). So thats all, if everyone of you has the same problem, take your MB to service and wait.

I purchased a black macbook in May 06. It was one of the first batches that came out. After about 4 months the random shutdowns started. Took it in, brought it back. The problem still was not fixed. Took it in for repair a second time. Apple replaced my logic book and heatsink. Still the problem was not fixed. I took it in a third time, this time they replaced my battery and finally my computer is working as it should…be patient, they will eventually fix your computer. From what the Genius told me he said that even though the symptons are the same, its not always caused by the same thing, therefore making it hard to pin point the exact issue…Apple is working on it…despite my frustration, the service i received was first class!

My daughter’s white MacBook has started the random shutdowns. I have told her to take it to the Genius Bar and we’ll see what happens.
