Yet another hardware failure!

I’ll document it more completely in my blog but for now:

Yesterday at my first day of work at a 2nd web development company, the backlight on my Macbook’s LCD died.

In a nutshell:

May- Ordered macbook
June received Macbook DOA with missing key on keyboard
June\July – Sticky trackpad issue
Discoloration issue
-August\September — Random Shutdowns
outrageous hold time, depot repair
Computer shipped to WRONG STATE from repair depot
Computer finally received with tape still on bezel

and now I’m working full time, explained to Apple Customer Relations that I could potentially lose my job, but they don’t care.

So now another 2 weeks at the depot. Absolutely unacceptable. Am I happy with my Mac? Absolutely not.

    Sounds like my story! I’ll explain:

    First Macbook bought in Applestore, directly a DOA.
    Got finally a new Macbook after having to call for hours to Apple.
    After two weeks the harddrive broke down, lost for four weeks my Apple to get it repaired.
    One week after repair my Macbook started flipping, falling constantly into sleepmode.
    Now, one week later I’m writing this!

    Totally lost my confidence in Apple!

    Yeah, sounds familiar. I’ve just spent a full five weeks(!) waiting for my MacBook to return with a new topcase and display bezel… “supply difficulties”.

    Hi got an incredible story about macbook.

    Bought a Macbook in june 2006. 1 month and a half, colour strps appears on startup. Sent for repair, took 3 days! Great you’ll say. 2 weeks later, motherboard failed. Sent to repair and it took 5 months!!!! I am not joking. Best of all, after 5 months, went to shop to take laptop, the casing was not put properly!!! It had to be sent back again to apple holland and got it back 3 weeks later. Best of the best. I had to pay 110 euros (170 USD) for the little trip to holland. Despite all my shouts, threats and protests, apple remained silent and shit on me, not even willing to extend the warranty period after holding the macbook for 5 months.

    Can you believe it. When there is no competition, this is the type of attitude and arrogance you face.
