Here is a good example of that customer service:

$$$$Apple$$$$ to charge for final Boot Camp

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37098

Did you pay that $1.99 for a driver fan boy?

I’ve had very good experience with Dell and everyone I know has a good experience with Dell. If I sub "Apple" for "Dell" does it make a statement like yours carry more weight?

Fan boys are so dishonest which make honest people shun Macs.

And FYI Macs are PC's no matter what those half truth commercials say about PC's. The difference is OSX.

Ed,

If there support is so good then why was this site created and why does Apple delete post from their forums when you simple ask questions about certain issues which are legitimate?

Stop with the PC bashing their bud! You comments show your ignorance in this area. You know when people post comments like that I just laugh because the fun is already made.

(I've had very good experience with Dell and everyone I know has a good experience with Dell.

Dave - don't be a moron. Apple has excellent customer service. Fantastic, really. Boycott Apple!!! Gimme a break. Go buy a Dell, then. I understand their customer service is quite good...which is a good thing, because you'll need it 5x more often than with your Mac. Everyone I know has nothing but good experiences with Apple, including myself.

After arguing with an Apple Customer Relations representative about my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo (we don't have an actually Apple Store in Montreal - just questionable resellers and service providers) they offered to reimburse me for a rental of a replacement machine - but they couldn't tell me where I could actually rent one. And it was capped at $300.

The 10% restocking fee Apple charged me to return mine after 20 days I wrote-off as a rental fee. I just hope they solve all the issues with the Core 2 MBP soon because while it was a wonderfully designed machine, it did need some serious work, construction and support wise.

This is yet another example of Apple bad customer service. Apple must think we all have a friggin $$$$ cash in our back yards.

The bottom line is Apple sold a defective product and they are unwilling to do the right thing and completely replace it instead of riggin it.

Yet another reason to boycott Apple.

Apple does not have a loaner policy in place, but at the Apple Stores the Mac Geniuses can suggest that you buy a "refreshed" Mac while your computer is at depot. The refreshed Macs are not subject to the 10% restocking fee because they are open box returns that get resold at a 10% discount. If you can't be without a computer during the repair period, and the refreshed model will do, the Mac Geniuses and the store managers are more than happy to let you purchase and then return the refreshed computer. Refreshed Macs at the Apple Stores are not "refurbished," they're merely open box returns. Don't buy a new one because you lose 10% when you return it.
