You press the power button, it "bongs" and then the screen goes black and the computer is completely unresponsive except for the light on the front. A call to Apple had a new one shipped within two days. This one kernel panicked on the first boot and would not restart after that. So we called the nearby Apple store and swapped for a new one. Hopefully this will be the last of the problems. We bought the Apple Care with this one. We purchased a Macbook online and it worked for one day then shutdown and we could not revive it. First time arround they replaced my heatsink but the shutdowns have continued. Two things, (1) I guess this kind of problem can be expected with any new product line, so we shouldn't be surprised, but (2) COME ON! I can't get a strait answer. The insides of any macbook are all fubar and these poor technicians have to troubleshoot each machine because there isn't a silver bullet fix.
