Shutdown – the never ending story
Hi every body, i’m from austria and very angry about Apple. End of September 2006, i was buying a macbook. On the same day i see, that the cdrom drive was not working. i called my dealer and ordered a new cd drive. during this time, when i was waiting for the drive, my macbook always shutdown. again i called my dealer and told them my problems. The answer was: we know this problem, the logic board have a serial foult. After 2 weeks waiting for the cd drive, they changed the drive and the logic board.
1 1/2 month later the same problem. The mac book shut down and was not able to put on again. Now i wait 4 weeks for my book. 1st. logicboard deffect, 2nd. front case must get changed.
i am very angry about this. maybe apple have good products but the service in a case of problems is horrable. I think i will never again buy an apple produkt.

Hi,
I empathise with you. I bought an ibook 2.5 yrs ago because I had been lead to believe that apple products are more reliable than pcs. Then over the last few months it has been shutting down randomly.
The apple store said the logic board needs to be completely replaced, and they have no idea why it stuffed up. It will cost $1350 to fix, even though I bought the laptop for $1600 2.5 yrs ago.
I am very disappointed. It is still a pretty new product and I don’t think it’s acceptable that the entire engine for the system can just stop working for no reason at all and that I am expected to fork out the price of a new laptop to fix it.
