Macbook Random Shutdown

Wow – looks like another future Mac User has been had – this guy’s new Macbook arrived DOA – doh! Could we have warned him he was in for some fun by getting a Macbook?

Here is the excerpt:

Actually, the screen doesn’t start out that way. The bottom half starts out black, then gradually changes to an interesting algae green, then brightens until it gets to the white-with-bluish-streaks you see here.

Very artsy. But not very usable. I can’t see enough to complete the setup process.

So I figure, “OK, so Apple’s vaunted quality isn’t holding up here. Fine. I’ll check out Apple’s vaunted tech support.”

Except, it’s after 6 p.m. PST. Apple’s top-notch techs have gone home for the night. I can get, according to the recorded greeting, automated iPod support. Unfortunately, that’s not what I need.
