first of all, im sorry i waited so long to do this. i hurried complaining when my macbook pro malfunctioned, but didn’t care to share the success story of its fixing. i purchased my mbp last july and after one month it started to shutdown randomly. i obviously got super upset and started searching on the internet for info about the problem. first thing i found was this website, that gave me great support in sharing information and stories. for creating this web, thank you so much matthew.
then, always on this site, among many justified complaints and recounts of people going through repair’s nightmares, somebody mentioned that apple had come up with a firmware update, that seemingly would have fixed the problem. i downloaded the firmware, and my computer never had a single shutdown ever after, it worked perfectly ever since, and behaved as a ferrari, it’s the best machine i ever had.
so i stopped following the news about the problem, simply went ahead enjoying this wonder-tech. im not sure how many people found a solution through the firmware update, and im not even sure if apple came out with an official explanation about the problem’s source and its definite solution. but the firmware update worked for me, and im sure for many others, and for this, i think i ought to share my good ending. here is also a link where you may find a bit more info about the firmware update

good luck, and thank you matthew for giving us this space to share our stories, i can honestly say i was logging in almost every hour at the time i had the shutdowns! and i’ll keep coming back to it.
