Resolve for RSD

I bought my MacBook at CompUSA s/n 4h632062u9c. This is a very powerfull, true performer-now the random or intermitent shut down issue.I had to fix this.First I contacted my local CompUsa they made me feel delusional.Next I contacted the CompUSA corporate repair facility they did not know of this issue as well, nor would they address it because my unit is still covered under the Mac warranty(I purchased the CompUSA 3 year)They give me the Mac tech/warranty phone number, offer to resolve the problem for 249.00.
We tried a series of “press and hold” procedures and arbitrary battery removal/install b.s.It was even sugested I claim the loss insurance to get a new unit.(most Mac owners are typically higher-order thinkers, not willing to upset any karmic balance)So that’s not an option. The firmware update can help.I have found the main cause,I will repair your unit if you send it to me.prepaid shipping/return/tracking and insurance. all I ask is a donation 50% of which will go to the Bay County Domestic Violence charity.
I have fixed 14 units locally without a hitch.I will remedy yours same day.
My phone number is:850.638.4331.Best 850.541.2214
Here is where I am:319 Wisteria Ln. Chipley ,Florida 32428
No hidden agendas here, just trying to help as we were devastated when this jewel fritzed. You may enclose a check or use paypall and promise this will permanently fix the unit, is non-invasive as not to void existing warranties.
I welcome any questions.

“most Mac owners are typically higher-order thinkers, not willing to upset any karmic balance”

Correction: Most Mac owners are gullible and easily persueded by hype.

Why else would they buy a mac?

And if you got a Dell they would have come to you, where ever the machine was. Then again you would not have this problem with a Dell!
(of course you would need to buy that warrenty option, but you did buy the 3 year with the mac.)

    ROFLMAO
u said DELL is good at supporting customer?
    what a bs
i bought a Dell desktop computer about 3 years ago and i had a serious heating problem with my HDD.
i called them up for help but they said heating is problem is “perfectly normal” and told me to shut up.
about 3 weeks later my HDD stuffed up because of this stupid heating problem.
i had to buy a new HDD but that one still stuffed up.
guess what. Dell still said it is normal to have this heating issue.
note that i paid for the warrenty.
i think it was caused by bad ventilation system (it’s Dell. what do u expect?).

and of course with Dell you still have to be tortured with Windows. Dell may be an OK computer, but Windows is a gummed up, ever-outdated, PITA.

  4. GFC Says:

If you can’t stand Windows, give Ubuntu Linux a try, Seriously. It runs well on inexpensive hardware and there’s a pretty good selection of application software in the repository. Dell even offers it preinstalled on some machines.

Every time I try a mac, either at a store or at a client, its always the same: WHERES MY ADVIL!!!

Even the “pretend I’m Windows” interface of linux is easier to deal with.
And the “ever-outdated”??? Shall we talk about how many versions of OSX it took to catch up with functions in XP?? Or if apple will ever get around to fixing all the security holes in OSX? (and mr linux, stop smurking, red hat released 100+ patches just last month) At least MS will fix them as they popup. And eweek mag just had a story about how few security holes in Vista vs the many in OSX 10.4

Excuse me, I must now go and laugh at people who bought iPhones (iPhone is a registered trademark of Cisco systems!!)

    fred,
haha! why so angry? Too many blue screens of death today? Too many “3 finger salutes”? I’ve used Windows for 15 years + and still do. BUT, OSX is a breath of fresh air every time. why? for faaaaar more reasons than you’ll ever understand by “trying a mac at either the store or at a client”. VISTA = washed up, has been, OSX wannabe. hehehe. Looking forward to Leopard.

    dp,
    Angry? Just telling the truth!!
BSOD’s?? If I get one a month (from 4 XP machines and 1 Vista) total its alot. And has your kernal paniced today yet? And if you say no, then may I remind you the whole reason this entire website exists!! 1885+ macs failing. All is not perfect is Jobs-topia.

Oh yes 10.5, A Vista want-a-be. How many times can they put lipstick on the BSD unix pig. Can’t wait to see that silly leaning tower of file names effect waving from the dock.

My 7-month-old MB had TWO random shutdowns today. Very upset.

  9. GFC Says:

    *smurk, smurk*

The post was not intended as a putdown of Windows. But if Windows gives somebody heartburn there are free alternatives. No guarantee that they’d work out for everybody.

  10. Raven Says:

I have a MB that works fine. I also know all the maintenance, which is something I do not see with those who are having issues.

Maybe the problem is that the people do not know how to care for their computer, do not practice proper battery care, and do not monitor their preferences.

    Just sayin’
