shutdown problem

Hi everybody, I’m a new (desperate) member: I purchased a macbook exactly 20 days ago in Italy, encouraged by everybody to buy apple because of the reliability of the brand, the quality of products and the customer after-sale services.
my macbook has been running strangely hot for a week and, more worrying, when I want to shut it down, it delays the process or it crashed and I have to force the shutting down. In addition, the customer service phone line does not answer and the store where I purchased discarded any responsibility, saying the apple directly interfaces with clients. Any idea about my problem? what could be the causes? software or hardware issues?
I’m really disappointed with my macbook problems only after 20 days!!!!!

RETURN IT NOW!!
GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!
DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!!
Then go buy a Dell, HP, Toshiba, or something not apple.
Read the complaints and posts here about apple reliability. If you are already having these problems with it, its only going to get worse. They may swap it out with a new (you would hope) or just a repaired unit. But you should not accept a repaired replacement for something less than a month old.

This advice is probably a little late to help this person, but anyone experiencing defects within the exchange period should swap out for a new unit.

What I would do, I know some time has passed since you left this post but I would open activity monitor and see if there is something hoggin the cpu. Also, install menu meters so you can check what is going on.
Call AppleCare and talk to them, they are very friendly and helpful.
