random shutdown on battery power

Usually I have to be down to 40% battery power. Then with no warning the system just shuts down. It used to go to sleep to conserve power if it was low. Now it just shuts down. I did the battery reset procedure. No good.

I had the same problem of my Macbook randomly shutting down: I had Apple replace the battery. Problem solved.
After much testing with Techtool and eventually the Macbook would not function without the AC cable attached it seemed to be a no-brainer. It kinda makes sense that a laptop would shutdown if the power supplying it is faulty.
I hope that helps someone.

Jeez that thing is riddled with problems. Fortunately for me it doesnt shut down on it’s own yet… but the plastics are cracking, screen is flickering, power cord malfunctioning, and phone jack has a mind of its own. If it wasn’t for AppleCare I would say this is the worst product for its money, and that is unfortunate enough because Apple does put out some nice things.
Check out my blog, and you will thank your lucky stars that this is the only problem you have.
Take care,
